Safe Play First

Responsible Gambling
at Betpor

Gambling should always be a form of entertainment — never a way to solve financial problems or manage stress. Betpor is committed to giving Pakistani users the tools, knowledge and honest information they need to stay in control of their play.

18+ Adults only — or the higher minimum required by the operator/license jurisdiction. Local laws in Pakistan may further restrict participation.

Protection Tools

Six Ways Betpor Supports Safe Play

Deposit Limits

Set daily, weekly or monthly deposit caps on your operator account before you start playing. Sticking to a PKR limit you are comfortable with is the single most effective way to prevent overspending.

Loss Limits

Loss limits cap how much you can lose within a defined period. Once reached, your account will prevent further play until the limit resets. Never chase losses — set a firm ceiling and honour it.

Time & Session Limits

Time limits and session reminders help you stay aware of how long you have been playing. Short, planned sessions are far healthier than extended, unplanned ones — especially during a PSL match evening.

Cooling-Off Periods

Take a planned break from gambling for 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days without fully closing your account. Cooling-off periods can interrupt harmful patterns before they escalate.

Self-Exclusion

Self-exclusion is a formal commitment to stop gambling for a defined period — typically six months, one year or permanently. Once activated, the operator must close your account and refuse re-registration.

Reality Checks

Reality check pop-ups remind you how long you have been playing and how much you have wagered in the current session. These simple interruptions can make a significant difference to in-session decision-making.

Our Commitment

Why Betpor Puts Safe Play First

Pakistan's online betting community is growing rapidly. Users from Karachi to Lahore, Islamabad to Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad to Peshawar are increasingly exploring sports wagering platforms — particularly around Pakistan cricket, PSL T20 seasons and major ICC tournaments. That growth makes responsible gambling education more important than ever.

Betpor was built on a simple principle: informed users make better decisions. Our platform exists to give you clear, honest information — including the parts that gambling operators do not always highlight prominently, like loss limits, self-exclusion procedures and warning signs.

Gambling is not an investment strategy. It is not a reliable way to supplement your income. The house always carries a mathematical edge — and over time, the only protection is playing within limits you have set in advance and can genuinely afford to lose.

This page does not exist to discourage entertainment. It exists to make sure that if you choose to participate in online gambling, you do so with full awareness of the risks, the tools available to you and the support that exists if things stop feeling fun.

Golden Rule: Only ever gamble with money you can genuinely afford to lose. If a bet would cause real financial hardship if lost, it is too large. Set your PKR limit before you start — not during play.

Practical Controls

Understanding Your Limit Toolkit

Daily Deposit Limit PKR 2,000
Example only. Set your own limit in the operator's account settings before playing.
Weekly Loss Limit PKR 10,000
Example only. A weekly loss limit prevents a bad session from cascading across multiple days.
Monthly Session Time 10 hours
Example only. Track total time spent gambling each month to spot patterns early.

How to Set Limits: Log in to your operator account and navigate to the Responsible Gambling or Account Settings section. Limits should take effect immediately or within 24 hours. Increases to a limit typically require a cooling-off period before activation.

Know the Signs

Warning Signs of Problem Gambling

  • Gambling with money set aside for rent, groceries, school fees or other essential expenses
  • Increasing your bet sizes to recover previous losses — commonly known as "chasing losses"
  • Borrowing money from family or friends in Karachi, Lahore or elsewhere to fund gambling sessions
  • Feeling irritable, anxious or depressed when you are not able to gamble
  • Spending significantly more time gambling than you originally planned for a session
  • Hiding your gambling activity from family members or close friends
  • Gambling feels like an obligation or compulsion rather than entertainment
  • Neglecting work, studies or personal relationships because of time spent on gambling platforms

If you recognise three or more of these signs in yourself or someone you know, it is important to take action now. Use the self-exclusion tool on your operator account and seek support through the resources listed below. Early intervention is far more effective than waiting until the problem becomes severe.

Self-Reflection

Quick Self-Assessment Questions

Ask Yourself Honestly

These questions are for reflection only — not a diagnostic tool. Answer privately and honestly.

1

Have you ever placed a bet using money you could not actually afford to lose at that time?

2

Do you find yourself thinking about your next gambling session when you are at work, studying or with family?

3

Have you ever increased your bet amount to try to win back money you had already lost?

4

Have you hidden gambling activity or financial losses from anyone close to you?

5

Has gambling negatively affected your sleep, mood, relationships or financial stability in the past three months?

6

Have you tried to stop or reduce your gambling and found it genuinely difficult?

If you answered "Yes" to two or more questions: This is a meaningful signal. Consider using the self-exclusion tool on your operator account, speaking to a trusted person and reviewing the support resources on this page. There is no shame in seeking help early — it takes courage and clear thinking.

Formal Protection

How to Use Self-Exclusion

Self-exclusion is the most powerful responsible-gambling tool available to you. When you activate self-exclusion on an operator's platform, you are requesting that the operator close your account and prevent you from creating a new one for the duration of the exclusion period.

Most operators offer the following self-exclusion periods:

  • 6 months — a meaningful break that provides real distance from the habit
  • 1 year — recommended for anyone who has identified clear problem patterns
  • 5 years or permanent — for those who recognise that gambling causes ongoing harm

During self-exclusion: The operator must restrict your access, remove you from marketing lists and refuse deposit transactions from your registered payment methods. They are also obligated to return any remaining balance in your account.

After self-exclusion ends: Reactivation typically requires a deliberate process, including a mandatory cooling-off period and written confirmation from you. Operators cannot automatically reinstate your account when the period expires.

How to activate: Log in to your operator account and go to Responsible Gambling settings. Select "Self-Exclusion", choose your period and confirm. If you cannot find the option, contact the operator's support via live chat or email — they are legally required to process your request promptly.

Responsible Play Rules

Betpor's Safe Play Code

Plan Before You Play

Decide your deposit amount, session length and acceptable loss in advance — before you log in. Never make these decisions mid-session.

Separate Your Gambling Budget

Keep gambling funds completely separate from everyday PKR expenses — rent, groceries, utilities, education. If blurring occurs, stop immediately.

Wins Are Not Income

Gambling winnings are not a reliable or sustainable income source. Treat any win as a bonus, not an expectation. Never plan your finances around expected winnings.

Talk to Someone

If gambling is affecting your relationships, finances or mental health, talk to someone you trust. Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Help Is Available

Responsible Gambling Support Resources

If you or someone you know needs support with problem gambling, the following types of organisations provide assistance. Access these resources directly through an internet search — Betpor does not provide external links on this page.

Operator Responsible Gambling Support

Every licensed gambling operator is required to provide a responsible-gambling support section with self-exclusion, deposit limit tools and links to problem gambling help. Access this through the operator's account settings or by contacting their customer support team directly. Operators are obligated to respond to self-exclusion and limit requests promptly.

BeGambleAware (begambleaware.org)

It is one of the most widely referenced responsible-gambling resources in international license jurisdictions. Their resources cover self-assessment tools, treatment options and family support guidance.

Mental Health Support (Pakistan)

Problem gambling in Pakistan can intersect with anxiety, depression and financial stress. Mental health support organisations operating in Pakistan — including Umang Pakistan and Rozan — provide counselling and helpline services. Search for current helpline numbers and availability in your city. Your mental health matters as much as your financial wellbeing.

Pakistan Legal Notice: Gambling is restricted in Pakistan under the Prevention of Gambling Act, 1977. Local Context

Gambling & Pakistan

Pakistan's legal framework restricts gambling under the Prevention of Gambling Act, 1977. Online gambling exists in a legally complex space, and interpretation of that law as it applies to specific online platforms can vary. Betpor does not provide legal advice and strongly encourages users to understand their own legal obligations before participating on any platform.

Beyond the legal dimension, gambling in Pakistani society carries cultural and religious weight that each person must weigh for themselves. Financial risk, family obligations and community expectations are all real factors that should inform any decision to gamble.

Betpor's responsible-gambling content is provided with that full context in mind. Our goal is not to promote gambling — it is to ensure that anyone who chooses to participate in it has honest information, practical tools and access to support.

For Families

Protecting Those Around You

Problem gambling rarely affects only the individual. Across Pakistani families in Lahore, Karachi and every other city, financial stress caused by gambling can damage trust, strain relationships and create long-term hardship.

If you are concerned that a family member is gambling problematically:

  • Have an open, non-confrontational conversation about your concerns
  • Avoid covering gambling debts, which can enable continued harmful behaviour
  • Encourage them to use the operator's self-exclusion tool
  • Contact a support organisation together — it is often easier with company
  • Seek support for yourself as well; supporting someone with a gambling problem can be emotionally draining

Play Smart. Stay in Control.
